Donate to the Portsmouth Historical Association

The mission of the Portsmouth Historical Association is to preserve the history of Portsmouth, Virginia. Founded in 1752, Portsmouth had an important role in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, and the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1855, in which one in three citizens of the city lost their lives. This rich history is reflected at the Hill House Museum in the fortunes and fate of the Hill family. All funds received go to the restoration and preservation of the Hill House and the continuing mission of the Association to preserve and tell the story of the history of Portsmouth.
